# Signing a Contract as a Subcontractor or Witness in C-Link
## This guide provides step-by-step instructions on what to do as a subcontractor or witness when you receive a contract for execution via DocuSign in C-Link.

### **📧 Receiving the Contract Email**
To begin the signing process:
1. **Receive Email Notification**:
- When a contract is issued via C-Link for execution via DocuSign, all members to the contract will receive an email notification.
2. **View the Contract**:
- The email will indicate whether you need to sign as a witness or as the signatory. You can view the contract directly from the email.
### **✍️ Signing the Contract**
Follow these steps to sign the contract:
1. **Initial Signatory**:
- The subcontractor will receive the contract first to sign.
2. **Click Sign the Contract**:
- Open the email and click on the "Sign the Contract" button.
3. **Navigate DocuSign**:
- You will be taken to DocuSign. Click "Next" to navigate to the signing area.
4. **Sign and Finish**:
- Sign your name in the designated field and press "Finish".
### **🔄 Signing Sequence**
The signing process will follow this sequence:
1. **Subcontractor**:
- The subcontractor signs the contract first.
2. **Subcontractor’s Witness**:
- If a witness is required, the subcontractor’s witness will receive an email to sign next.
3. **Main Contractor**:
- The contract then goes to the main contractor for signing.
4. **Main Contractor’s Witness**:
- Finally, the main contractor’s witness will receive the email to sign.
5. **Email Notification**:
- Each signer will receive an email when it is their turn to sign.
