🖥️ Accessing the Cost Planning Tool
To begin using the cost planning tool:
- Log into C-Link:
- Navigate to your project dashboard upon logging in.
- Open Cost Planning Tool:
- Click on the "Cost Planning Tool" to start the process.
📄 Inputting Project Details
Follow these steps to input your project details:
- Building Type:
- Select whether it's a new build, existing, or combined. For example, select "New Build".
- Frame Construction:
- Choose the frame construction type: Timber, Steel, Brick and Block, etc.
- Foundation Type:
- Select the type of foundation: Strip, Raft, Pad, or Unsure.
- Basement and Piling:
- Indicate if there is a basement and if there is piling.
- Specification Level:
- You can choose the specification level of the fit-out: low (Housing Association), Ultra-High End, High-End Residential, or somewhere in between.
- Additional Details:
- Input the number of lifts, project address (auto-pulled), location (e.g., London), and start date on site. The system will factor and index the start date.
- Total GIA:
- Enter the total Gross Internal Area (GIA) for private space, communal space, soft landscaping, and hard landscaping.
- Send Cost Breakdown:
- Press the "Send me the cost breakdown" button.
📤 Generating the Cost Plan
To generate and review the cost plan:
- Output PDF:
- The system will generate a PDF report summarising your cost plan based on your inputs.
- Review Report:
- The report includes a summary of your inputs, a breakdown of costs by component (e.g., shell and core, fit-out, internal walls), project specifics, lifecycle costs, and indexed factors for time and location.
- Rework the Plan:
- You can go back and rework the cost plan as needed and use the tool multiple times.
