We're excited to announce the release of our Smart BoQ Builder, an AI-assisted workflow designed to convert existing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) into the C-Link format. 

Summary

Quantity Surveyors (QSs) can now upload a single Excel, CSV, or PDF file and have the line items extracted directly into the editable BoQ table, eliminating the initial manual reformatting step in the procurement process.

Key Benefits

• Remove Manual Reformatting: Automates the conversion of existing BoQ documents (Excel, CSV, PDF) into the required C-Link BoQ format, saving time at the start of procurement.
• Simplified Extraction: Allows QSs to get line items extracted directly into the editable BoQ table.

What’s New

• The Smart BoQ Builder is available on the Bill of Quantities screen, accessible per work package.
• "Generate with AI" entry point opens a single-file upload dialog (Excel, CSV, PDF).
• AI extracts BoQ line items and inserts them directly into the editable BoQ table – no manual import step.
• Processing UX includes a progress indicator, the ability to leave the page and return, and Cancel and Retry options.

Important Information

• Re-running generation overwrites the previous BoQ result (no version history in this release).
• No hallucinated data: fields the AI is not confident about are left blank for the QS to complete.
• Partial extraction is supported; if no usable line items can be extracted, an empty BoQ is returned with feedback.
• The full file is processed; there is no sheet selection in this release.
• Output is always a draft, fully editable using existing BoQ table functionality.
